OVERALL RECOGNITION will be given to the top 3 overall finishers in the following events and categories:
NOTE: All overall awards will be calculated using the official clock/gun time, in keeping with accepted international road racing standards. Overall awards are NOT presented in the Sask Egg Producers Half Marathon Walk.
COMPLIMENTARY ENTRY: Male and Female winners of the Full Marathon and Half Marathon Run events each receive complimentary entry into next year’s event, should they wish to defend their titles. A letter of invitation will be mailed out to these winners approximately 16-20 weeks prior to next year's race.
RESERVED RACE NUMBERS: In keeping with Credit Union QCM tradition, the returning Male and Female Full Marathon champions are assigned race numbers #001 and #002 (based on who had the faster overall time). The returning Male and Female Half Marathon Run champions are assigned race numbers #1000 and #1001 (based on who had the faster overall time). This is applicable only if the previous year's winners choose to return to defend their titles.
Can you explain Chip Time versus Gun Time?
Gun Time (sometimes called Clock Time) is the time from the sound of the starter's signal (traditionally a gun, but it can be a horn or just someone shouting “Go!”) to the time when the participant crosses the finish line. This is the Official Time used to determine all overall awards and course records.
Chip Time (sometimes called Net Time) is the time from when the participant crosses the starting mats at the start line, to the time when the participant crosses the finishing mats at the finish line. Depending on how long it took you to cross the starting line at the beginning of the race, your final Chip/Net time result will likely be less than the time showing on the finish line clock.
Net/Chip times are accepted for Boston Marathon qualification. The Credit Union Queen City Marathon is a certified Boston-qualifying race.
NOTE: The clocks at the finish line and on the course are running on unofficial Gun Time.
What time do you use to calculate the overall and age-category awards?
In accordance with International Association of Athletic Federation (IAAF) rulings, all overall awards are based on the official GUN TIME — the time from the start of the race (gun or “go!”) to when you cross the finish line. The Credit Union QCM chooses to base all age-category awards on NET/CHIP TIME, the time from when your individual ChampionChip crosses the starting line until it crosses the finish line.
Is there an official awards ceremony on race day?
Based on official “gun” time, custom gold, silver and bronze medals will be presented to the top three overall male and female participants in the Full Marathon, Wheelchair Marathon, Half Marathon Run and Mini Marathon events…and also to the top three overall teams in the Bellamy Kia Relay Team event. Overall Top Three medal presentations will be presented at the Information Tent at the following times:
Where and when can I see my race results?
On race day, as they become available, updated printouts of race results will be posted at the Information Tent in the Start/Finish infield area. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TIMES POSTED AT THE INFORMATION TENT ARE NET/CHIP TIMES - NOT THE OFFICIAL GUN TIME RESULTS THAT ARE USED TO CALCULATE OVERALL AWARDS.
Unofficial race results from our timing company, Race Headquarters, will be posted on www.runqcm.com ASAP following the race. Please be patient immediately after the race, as we get the results posted on our website. These results will be posted in both gun times and net/chip times. The final, official race results will be posted soon after, once the results have been finalized by Race Headquarters.
I spotted an error in my race results. How can I get it corrected?
The name, age and sex information we use for the race results comes directly from your registration data. So, if you registered yourself online, we hope you didn't spell your own name wrong. Still, typos and errors can happen and we can fix them. If you spot an error in your race results - a name spelled incorrectly, an accidental "sex change" into the wrong Male/Female category, an age mix-up or whatever - please contact us ASAP after the race at runqcm@hotmail.com or call 1-866-2-RUN-QCM (1-866-278-6726). Tell us what the problem is and we'll work to get it corrected as quickly as possible.
When you email us, please tell us your name, your approximate finishing time and the event in which you competed.
Oh, and just to clarify...asking "Can you make my finish time an hour faster so I can impress my friends and/or qualify for Boston?" does NOT really count as an official results error. But good try, though.
I'm hoping to qualify for Boston. How do I get my Credit Union QCM qualifying time to the Boston Marathon organizers to prove that I qualified? Does my Net/Chip time count?
Shortly following our race, Race Headquarters sends our official Full Marathon race results directly to the registration department of the Boston Marathon, along with our official course certification number. When you submit your registration to Boston, they will reference our official results. And yes, your Net/Chip time is acceptable for Boston qualification. For more information about qualifying for the Boston Marathon, please log on to: www.bostonmarathon.org. And remember to wear your Credit Union QCM shirt when you race in Bean Town!
Do you give out official finisher certificates? How do I get mine?
Race certificates are available for downloading shortly after race day at Marathon-Photos.com. There is no charge for the basic version of the race certificate. You can download the basic version for FREE. However, if you'd like to purchase an enhanced version of your race certificate, you can order that through Marathon-Photos.com.
How can I search results from previous Credit Union QCM races?
CLICK HERE to see results from previous races. That's the easiest way. Previous race results can also be found at www.raceheadquarters.com.
Unfortunately, results from our very first race back in 2001 are currently unavailable from Results Canada, the company that did our timing that first year. We hope to have them available when possible.
