What kind of running and walking events are available at the SaskCentral QCM?

The SaskCentral QCM currently offers the following events:

Are there entry limits in the various events?

The SaskCentral QCM has maximum registration caps. CLICK HERE to learn the entry limits for the various events.

In 2008, the Half Marathon Run, Half Marathon Walk and Mini Marathon (both the 5-10 year and 11-17 year divisions) were SOLD OUT.  The Full Marathon and the Bellamy Kia Relay events were close to selling out.  Early registration is strongly recommended.

What are the age restrictions?

All registrants who are under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian's signature of approval on the paper entry form, or acceptance of the waiver portion of the online registration.

The SaskCentral QCM reserves the right to require proof of age and to deny participation to anyone based on these age restrictions, without refund.

Can I register on race day? When is the latest time I can register? When does online registration close?

CLICK HERE for registration deadline information.

NOTE FOR LAST-MINUTE REGISTRANTS: If you registered very close to race day and aren’t sure if your registration info is going to make it into the database before the start of race package pickup, please bring your photo ID and proof of payment if possible (such as the cancelled cheque or the credit card printout from your online banking system) to package pickup. If you can let us know about this prior to race package pickup, we can look into this in advance of your arrival at race package pickup.

What credit cards do you accept?

We currently accept VISA and MasterCard for online and paper registrations. Note: A processing fee will be charged on all credit card payments (for both online registration and mail-in/drop-off registration forms), and your credit card statement will read  “Running Room Edmonton”.

I went to register online and there's this "optional account login" thing. Do I need that to register online?

No, you don't. That option is available if you already have a RunningRoom.com account, sometimes called an athlete dashboard. If you don't have a RunningRoom.com account, just click on the "Continue" button and proceed.

Can I download the registration form from the web site?

Yes, on our website we have a registration form available for you to download, print, fill out and mail-in/drop off – should you wish to do so.  However, if you are reading this page, we assume that you have Internet access and have the option of registering online.

Online registration fees for the SaskCentral QCM are less expensive than mailing in or dropping off the printed registration form, so you may wish to take advantage of online registration and save yourself some money. Plus, by registering online, you will know immediately that your registration is confirmed. No waiting and wondering if the post office lost the registration fee you mailed in.

I dropped off my registration form at the Running Room (or mailed it to your Post Office address) yesterday and now it’s a a couple of days later and I still haven’t received my registration confirmation. What’s happening?

Unlike online registration, which is instantaneous, if you drop off or mail in a paper registration form, it takes some time for that form to get to our registration volunteers. Remember, you might be dropping off your registration form at a Running Room store in Vancouver or mailing it to us from Ottawa, and that form has to make its way to us in Regina before anything can happen.

Once we receive your paper registration form and registration fee here in Regina, your information is manually entered into our database before an entry confirmation can be generated. Please be patient and, if possible, register early enough so that you are not leaving everything to the last minute. Last minute entries are stressful on both you and us.

Or, better yet, just register online and save yourself some money and the stress of waiting and wondering.

Once I register, how do I know that I am officially registered?

If you registered online, you will automatically receive a registration confirmation via email. If your email program has a junk mail feature, there's a chance that your email confirmation might be delivered to your email's junk mail folder, so take a look there if it doesn't show up in your regular email in-box.

If you registered via mail or by dropping off your paper registration form at a Running Room location – and if you provided your email address on your registration form – we will send you a registration confirmation via email, once your registration form has been processed.  This may take several days, as paper registration forms are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Your patience is appreciated.

If you are getting anxious because you have not received any confirmation yet, first try checking on the online confirmation lists on our website. If your name, city and province/state are listed under your event, then you’re registered, even if you haven’t yet received your email confirmation information.

CLICK HERE to learn more about finding your name on the online confirmation lists.

If you checked the online confirmation lists and still can’t see your name, please contact us ASAP at runqcm@hotmail.com; let us know the situation (when and where you mailed in/dropped off your form, your name, your event, etc.) and we will look into it.

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOT CONFIRMED BY MAIL OR TELEPHONE.

I have already registered for one SaskCentral QCM event but I would like to switch to another event. Can I do that?

Yes you can. Please see our Event Switching Policy for details on how to switch events.

How do I make changes to the online registration form once it has been submitted?

Well, first of all, if you filled in your own online registration form, we hope you didn't spell your own name incorrectly, because then we'd have to tease you about it. Lol.  Just kidding, typos and mistakes happen and we're here to help out.

Changes to the information on your registration data must be made in writing by emailing us ASAP at runqcm@hotmail.com.  Please include your name, your event, and all the information that requires changing.  On emails, please make the subject line “Registration changes for (your name & event)”.

Can I get a refund if I have to cancel because I’m injured/coughing up weird stuff/washing my hair/hung-over/having second thoughts?

Regretfully, like the majority of marathon events, and as stated in several places on our website and registration form, the SaskCentral Queen City Marathon does not offer refunds for any circumstances, including medical reasons, event cancellation due to dangerous weather, or scheduling conflicts. Nor are fees deferrable to another year.

As a registered not-for-profit volunteer-run event, any funds taken in by the SaskCentral QCM that are not used for race-related costs are donated to the SaskCentral QCM’s designated charity.

We are sorry that you will not be able to take part in this year's SaskCentral Queen City Marathon. However, we hope you feel better knowing that you have contributed to a very worthy charitable event, and we hope that you will be able to join us next year.

I can’t make it to the race. Can I give my race entry to someone else?

Unfortunately, SaskCentral QCM race entries are non-transferable and entry fees are non-refundable. Due to legal insurance liability requirements, you may not give your race entry/race number to someone else.

If you are unable to take part, please contact us ASAP at runqcm@hotmail.com.

I want to register online but how do I know I can trust the online security?

Like millions of people do each and every day, if you have ever done any Internet banking or ordered a product an online store like Amazon.com, than you have used the very same secure online system that the SaskCentral QCM uses for its online registration. All registration information, both online and from manually entered registrations, are held in the secure database hosted by Running Room Canada Inc. and Running Room USA Inc., through their website: www.runningroom.com.

Runningroom.com uses a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Credit card numbers are encrypted in our secure database that is located behind a firewall. All personal information collected on runningroom.com is stored in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public. All credit card information supplied by users is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL, is the standard security technology for creating an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browser remains private and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their on-line transactions with their customers. In order to be able to generate an SSL link, a web server requires an SSL Certificate.

The Running Room online services have been upgraded to include even more security for our event registration, clinic registration systems, personal login and profile information. You will now notice SSL encryption on many of our online forms to further protect your privacy.

If you would like additional information, please read the Running Room privacy statement on www.runningroom.com

How will my registration charge appear on my credit card statement?

If you pay your registration fees with a credit card, the charge will appear on your credit card statement as “Running Room Edmonton”, the central processing hub for Running Room Canada Inc., which handles all the registration data for the SaskCentral Queen City Marathon.  All fees paid by credit card – whether via online registration or via a printed registration form – are subject to a small credit card processing fee.
