To ensure fairness, number assignment is made on a completely random basis once the database of registrant names is compiled. A new registrant database is compiled each year, so a runner’s number can vary from year to year.
Traditionally, if the Male and Female overall winners of last year’s Full Marathon event are returning to defend their titles this year, they will be assigned race bibs #001 and #002, based on who had the fastest time of the two.
If the Male and Female overall winners last year’s Half Marathon Run event are returning, they are assigned bibs #1000 and #1001, again based on who had the fastest time of the two.
If there is a very special, one-of-a-kind occasion - for example, if you a running your 100th marathon or something equally momentous - you must email us at least 2 months (8 weeks) in advance of race day at runqcm@hotmail.com. We cannot promise anything, however we can see what can be done to provide you with a special number race bib to commemorate your very special race.
When do I get my bib number? Do you mail it to me?
Race numbers will not be mailed or delivered. They must be picked up, along with your timing chip, shirt and other race info, at the race package pickup location on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before the race. THERE IS NO RACE-DAY PACKAGE PICKUP.
Please CLICK HERE to read about race package pickup.
Should I print my emergency contact information, any medical conditions, allergies, special medications and important emergency information like that on the back of my race number?
YES, YES, YES! Please print clearly, so medical personnel don't have to translate your handwriting in an urgent situation.
What is the little tear-off strip for at the bottom of my race number? Am I supposed to do something with that?
Please DO NOT DETACH that tear-off strip at the bottom of your race number. That is your “ticket” to get into the Post-Race Food Tent. When you are about to enter the Post-Race Food Tent, please tear that strip off your race number and give it to the food tent volunteers.
What do the different colours mean on the race number bibs?
Race bibs are colour and number coded for different events:

My race number clashes with my stylish running outfit. Do I really have to wear my race number? Can I wear it under my running jacket? Can I wear my race number on my back? I tried that at home in front of the mirror and my mom said it looks really cool.
We will all hope the fashion police will forgive you, but yes, you MUST wear your race number (or race bib, as they are also called). Any participant without a race number will be pulled from the course. Your race number must be worn on the front of your body, where it can be easily and clearly seen at all times by our course officials and photographers.
If you wish to start the race wearing a warm-up jacket over your race number and plan to remove your jacket within the first two or three kilometres, that’s fine. However, if the weather is such that you plan on wearing a jacket for most of the race, then you must wear your race number overtop of your jacket where the number will be clearly visible.
And no, despite what your mom might tell you, it actually doesn’t look that cool wearing your race number on your back.

Can I wear my race number on the front of my running shorts?
As long as your race number is clearly visible at all times to SaskCentral QCM course officials and photographers, wearing it on the front of your running shorts is fine.
Okay, can I wear my race number on the BACK of my running shorts?
What is it with you and wearing race numbers of the back of your clothes?
Why do I see some people wearing TWO race numbers? Are they cheating?
No, they’re not cheating. People wearing two race numbers are people who are running as a member of a Bellamy Kia Relay team AND also running an individual event (Full or Half Marathon) at the same time. For more information about how that all works, please CLICK HERE.
